Schooled: Public Education in Trenton, New Jersey

April 15, 2010

Trenton, NJ - I had to share this footage of the three year old student at the Garvey School writing his name and the color “Green” for me this morning, during my visit.

The private school’s director, Baye Kemit, discussed in detail changes he would like to see in the Trenton Public Schools. What many would call a revolution is described by this educator as “radical change” necessary for Trenton to improve it’s scholastic standing in the state and, eventually, its quality of life.
